ok WIP, very quick color throw down,
Here is where I want to go:
1) Fire balls shooting up, around bridge which is more destroyed
2) Wagon and beast pulling it are either really demonic or really angelic, yeah angelic shining white crossing some darker hell.
3)oh hell it's almost 3:00am I need sleep, will continue later today.

Well, here's my first attempt at a DSG. My first post on ConceptArt.org, too...
Took about 2 hours in PS7. I really should have tried something that I'm a bit better at coming out of the starting gate, but I need to work on my landscapes a lot. So, it's all good, right? ^-^
My covered wagon turned into some kind of monstrous Gypsy vardo, too...
Note: The texture of the rocks came from a couple of photos of rotting wood. Quick, cheap, and easy.

Are abysses always fires of hell? I was wondering about that... hmm, well apologies if i digressed.

The feeling is creeping up on me that this was way cooler in my head....

Let's see if third time's the charm so far as getting myself to post regularly in the DSG and not just lurking, not to mention getting into working digitally on a regular basis.
So Here's mine:
Roughly 2 hours in PS:CS (not including time spent Dilly Dallying).

thoguht somebody might be curious to see both
Erbie was a good horse, he always went where he was told. It seemed wrong to him the bridge was too small and the fire too hot. In his loyal horsey way he was sure the grain feeders had totally gone nuts now....

Taking a huge risk by choosing to go through the gulf of fire, this lonely wagon crew hopes to reach Sato Carno way ahead of the competition, and get the best prices for it's steel goods.

sketchbook pro, less than an hour
tried laying down color before lines, just too see what happened.
"as far as anybody could recall, the bridge had always been there"

Hey all, fairly new around here.
Some of these are awesome! Goran, really like the steamengine. And Talin, that "house"wagon is cool :-) very adventurish.
Here's my weak attempt, about 35 mins. Just starting doing digital coloring last christmas, so I'm really lacking experience.

I'm not even going to try this one, so i will just post my observations.....
i have to say from my stunted point of veiw, that Liviu B wins my vote for today, just the way he has used the light of the "fire" and that is all you see.

I'm not a pro but I share the same point of view. Liviu's one is really efficient. Good job.
I do enjoy observing the others too. Carry on everyone.

i've never painted fire before... painting from imagination is a big leap from life... at least if i didn't know what the forms were i could still just put down what i saw and it would turn out ok... not so from imagination. it was a nice challenge :) please don't ask me why the wood is not burning. this is one of those well maybe if you squint it kinda looks like a wagon...:P

My first EVER attempt at using oil paints. I used canola oil as my paint thinner because we don't have any turpentine in our house as we moved recently and haven't restocked since. I didn't have a lot of oil paint, just abit in small tubes, so I used it sparingly. The wagon got lost and I'm to lazy to find it (in other words: make it show up better). I wanted to work more on my environment skills then my scene skills anyway. *shrugs*. Anyway, it took me about 4 hours. Some of it got cut off when I clipped it from the digital camera pick seen here:

oh, and critique welcomed of course. :D
