The Photo challenge - misplaced

the topic is misplaced (can be lost, or objects in irregular surroundings, or however else you take it)

The point of the challenge is to take a picture that the viewer associates with the given topic.

regard less of the definitions of the topic in a dictionary.
any picture can be entered.
it is up to the pol to decide what picture is best associated with the topic

The Rules:
1. only one picture per contestant

2. no previously used material

3. the winner of the last poll will set the next topic; if the same person stands as the winner two times in a row, he or she must choose another user to present the next topic

4. enhancements of the picture (hue/saturation and levels) are allowed, but a minimum of Brushing etc.

5. no voting for your own picture

6. the challenge starts Monday, poll opens Friday and closes Sunday. the winner starts a new post on the photo forum that is named
"The Photo challenge - the chosen topic"

7. the poll shall be opened Friday morning

8. In the event of a tie in the polls, the person who created the challenge casts the tie breaking vote

9. the winner has until 18:00/6:00 pm (GMT +2) Monday, after he or she has won
to present the next topic, if the winner fails to do so. the topic will be presented by the 2nd place person on the poll

and i got some suggestions about the administration on The Photo Challenge
we should maybe pic some users to administer the challenge?
their task will be to start the thread and the poll and so on.
any thoughts?

yeah, i think thats a good idea. make it so that the winner has to choose a topic within that time limit, and have to post it in the thread that they won, and if not, then the 'competition-maker-people-things' can choose one.

my biggest problem with running it and stuff (besides not knowing if i'll be here) is the whole time thing because my clock is way different to yours.

but yes, i think a commitee thing would be a good idea

On another note, it would be cool to have a challenge picture like in the C.O.W, threads. Just a picture with the rules and stuff, to make everything more consequent. I would be happy to make one if you think it's a good idea.

nice picture! i love the kinda layout and subjectof the whole picture, i'd probably have the focus set to the distance of the sealions themselves, but i like the colour. :)

Damn I wish I had participated in this one. A very neat concept to work from. For some reason the word misplaced triggers my mind to lead to negative conotations or something very saterical. Really opposite mental directions. I would have ethier done a picture of a wrongfully accused prisoner, jews in a concentration camp , or a child in a hospital etc...or I would have a grown man dress as a baby in a maternity ward room where they keep new borns, a cat in a room full of dogs etc...I'll try my best to participate next time. By the way good shots people!
