this is not about bbc's the office, but the american version of the office. i'm not making any comparisons between the two because i haven't seen the bbc one, so don't tell me how much better it is.

the first season was good but this second season has been classic. the writing is the best on tv. Carrell is great and i'm glad they humanized him since season 1. the jim /pam story line is so incredibly charming. it's the only show on tv now that rome is done that i go out of my way to see.
what do you think elwell?

The whole thing is a brilliant modern-day satire. But I strongly advise you to watch the UK version. Gervais's subtle nuances are just incredible. The only trouble is, you may be too used to the US by now, as you're familiar with the cast. But watching both, I think they work great as top pieces of satire.

This show is so damn good, but it's almost scary how similar the personalities are to people I have worked and work with. The dialogue is brilliant...

I totally love both the British and American versions of the show. Last night's episode was brilliant, as have been most of the episodes this season.

I really want Jim and Pam to get together, but I know that would be the end of the series if they did.

Agreed. Both UK and US are quality. I've only seen a handful of each, but they're excellent.
