I'm not entirely sure if this has been brought up here before, but I feel it's my civic duty to increase this game's fanbase as much as physically possible.

This game is nothing short of absolutely phenomenal, even more so when you consider the whole thing was made by one guy over the course of five years. And he asks for absolutely zip in return, that deserves a medal or something, or at the very least wider recognition.

While the original site has gone down for some tragic reason, I have managed to acquire an alternative download site with the english translation patch already installed.

P.S. setup was a bit of a pain in the ass for me the first time 'round, so I'll be happy to help anyone with similar problems.

great great explorative game people --- dont' pass it up

the visuals are a work of pixel art ---- extremely minimal and low detail, but there's so much personality in it all.

I heard it was made in 3 weeks, but it sounds a bit too quick. I've done a game in 6hrs once though... (turn based shooter / puzzle)

I think Cave Story is a bit too linear, but in this case the story is good enough to motivate that.

Im in for the fight against the "Forgged" Balrog in the "Gum-Room" but my weapons dont seem to harm him....his tearing me appart every try -,-...anybody knows the trick ?

I'm with the big rolling machine in the maze and i don't know how to it. What's the trick to it? Cause i'm getting my ass kicked every time. Seriously neat game btw

How not to get killed by Monster X (AKA big rolling machine thing)

1. Kill all the roaches first so that they don't get in the way

2. Ride ON the treads so you don't get flattened by them

3. Shoot at the middle when the panels seperate.

Weapon of choice: Lvl 3 Blade

An interview on TIGS with Pixel (the guy who made the game) said that he took about 5 years to make it, on and off. Definitely not a three-weeker! I'd agree that it is pretty linear, but it has really good replay and lots of hidden goodies. Trying to figure out how to save Curly and get the Spur or Nemesis chewed up too many hours...
