I used to have a thread around here with over 800 views on it, but my camera had to be repaired and was gone for several weeks. Without having my camera for a while my interest in photography faded. Well now I've begun taking a photoshop course and my interest has resurfaced, so I've decided to post a new thread with updated work, a selection of my favorite shots, photoshop work, and toy photography. Enjoy, and feel free to speak your mind whatever your thoughts may be.
I'll start with some new stuff...

hmm
i don't like that black and white pictures
all of them is completely flat.
taking a good B&W picture is hard
stick to color photography
NR 6 this picture god very nice colors,
but the people and the parasols is not nice
i believe that this picture would be great if
the beach was empty

hi! as barret said the b/w photos could use more contrast. so you could play with that in photoshop... the seagull is my favourite. is the original in colour or did you take it in b/w?

Thanks for the replies guys. Now to answer your question, the black and white shots were taken that way, and none of these were altered in photoshop. As for the comment about the black and white shots looking flat. It is difficult to acheive great depth in any image especially black and white ones, because your eye can't rely on colour to aid in the perception of depth. Personally I think the flat look works reasonably well with these pictures especially the tree. When I spotted the tree it really jumped out at me and reminded me of oriental paintings or images on china (pottery) so the flat look is intentional. As for the other ones looking sort of flat well there wasn't much I could do. I suppose I could put them through photoshop and see if it helps.
Anywho here are some action figure shots that I've put through photoshop to turn them into comic book covers. These aren't fabulus works of art but fun little tributes to pop culture...

i love the spiderman "cover" the angle is intresting. the other ones are nice too but i feel like my eye is drawn to the reflection in JLA cover and takes away focus from the figures.

All I see in the Justice League cover is Superman and Batmans shiny heads. :P
I think you were trying to go for a dramatic look in that one, right?

Yea I was definitly going for a dramatic look with the jla cover. I just wanted to show enough of each character so the viewer could identify them. But dispite my best effort to difuse the light from the flash light by reflecting it off of a mirror, the glare is still to intense. So when I was photoshopping the cover I just went with the glare and even added more with lense flair. I may go back and try to tone it down manually.

I absolutely love the sunset captured in the vinegar bottle. Something about it just grabbed my attention.

I'm glad you pointed that out. I hadn't really noticed it myself. What I liked about the picture is the focus on the foreground objects rather then my brothers face, but now that you spotted the sun thats definitly the best part. Its neat how people see things differently.
Well now I'll post some old favorites...

Hey, you have the eyes, but the eyes are not good enough. I have learnt that a photographer without photoshop can be like a fish without water. You really need to tighten up your contrast and color correction. Picture 4, intended or not, is not horizontal, wierd angles are okay so long as they dont destroy the composition. But this angle doesnt do the picture any good. However, i like the Senital picture.. it has mood and great color to it. The lighting is also good.

Hey I see improvement in this batch. Picture 5 is great! as well as the picture before last. However, i'd remove the plane from the picture, it's distracting. The other pics, i dunno. What is that red thing? and there's a very blurred pic below it.
