my first "character design" ever...anything utterly out of place so far?

I think he's missing a face. The Critique Center is more for finished works than for WIPs (that's the sketches and WIP forum).

As it is currently, the crotch seems a bit out of perspective--and he appears to be missing some bits I know are important to most guys---and I'm not crazy about that dark uniform line you have around the whole thing. Other than that it's ok. Nothing stunning about the design. I'd like to see it in colour though.

um, yeah...sorry. i'm new here, haven't read all the forum rules thoroughly enough yet, sorry about that. maybe a mod could put this where it should be?:)

tnx for the feedback, tho. hm, yeah, i agree the crotch is an issue...i was going for a pretty tight pair of trousers, but i don't wanna castrate the guy.

also, this being my first real attempt at this kinda thing, i didn't want to go all cyber ninja re details and accessories. tried to keep the design simple and down to earth, and see if i could somehow make it interesting nevertheless.

Looks like his right hand and foot should be a tad larger.

i feel like the foreshortening is still a little off with his right foot. granted, it's from a more frontal view... i still think it should appear larger than his left. my only question is, do tough guys wear fanny packs? if not, what's sticking out of his posterior region?

Hey there. I think your wanting to create a simple tough guy is kind of cool. I regret to say that I`m not exactly an expert on the topic, but it seems like his arms and legs are a tad short, and line weight seems to be an issue, as previously stated. Nonetheless I like your picture, and look forward to seeing it updated!

update. primarily edited right foot and face + added colours.

i just now realized that the face might be too big, re size of the head and body...

That drawover helps me see it...

His legs look like they are blowing in the wind to our left... either that or he's about to fall over. Move both feet to the right and reposition the legs and I think It'll all come together.
