im doing this concept painting as a remake for arkanoid (thunderdome), i'm pretty much unhappy and lost. I wanted to get some input before i put in the last 20%.

Thoughts please.

i think its pretty damn cool

mabey you got some tunnel vision (i get that)
just take a break from it if its irritating you or you feel lost.

add more detail and clean up the image somemore
mabey have the ships blowing up a few buildings.

this is a beautiful painting. i would just tighten up some spots as the whole thing is looking a little too impressionistic at this point. i cant tell if the ship is in FG or BG too. Im assuming the ship is in foreground--if so i would tighten up the design and execution since it s in FG and its the "hero"

wasnt arkanoid the game where you were tring to break the blocks? was this a boss or is this completely new? good stuff --looking forward too finish---ty

Hyborian: thanks, ya i think i get that too, i try flipping the painting backwards to get a fresh look but its something else im unhappy with.

tyboogie: thanks, ya i see what your saying about tightening up areas. The smaller ship is actually supposed to be in the middle ground, ill work on making that clear. Ya the biiger ship is supposed the bricks in the old arkanoid, i just wanted it to fit more into the new theme.

Onle thing is I'm not sure how it relates to arkanoid if I'm thinking of the same game.. we are talking about the game where you bounce the ball up and down to blow up the blocks right? Maybe I'm thinking of the wrong game though.
