Why does being an artist make the meaning of life any different from anyone else's meaning of life?
Seriously, it depends on your weltanschauung, but I think most people would agree that knowing yourself and doing right by yourself and others is a good one.

You can't qualify such a thing. All artists have the same interest, sure, but all people are so different. You can't gauge it.

well my friend..being an artist or having that spirit ..we are different no question..we have double senses..we feel and cry like a woman..even though we are manly..why you think michelangelo could paint so tough and so delicate as he did..same goes with the other masters..we feel both ways..somehow..we see/feel different..nowadays is tough..modernity want people to behave like moderns yet we are still savages..hmm just compare a true gentleman in the era of the renaissance his thoughts and feelings towards life..i think we have lost a lot nowadays ..whenyou are properly balanced in all aspects of your life...u will realize this..then you will understand ...when you understand this you finally are yourself..is like dying and being reborn..:)..it has taken me 28 years to realize this..to try to understand why people can just get along..but i know now..if you think being an artist is easy mentally is not..we go against everything or well at least i do..yet to be able to cope with such a diference was hard now it seems like i know much, like i really im getting to know people thus know myself....
