I love the color reflection on the axe head, that is really well done. The mood is done well in his face, so serious and brooding.

I would like to see him a bit dirtier though to add to the highlander life style which was so hard and took its toll on the people. The arms are a tad short and you might want to focus on that are on your next piece.

Nice work!

*gasp!* (yes I really gasped) A subject with CHARACTER ! He's totally beleivable and it's one of the very few time where you come accross a subject that gives you the impression to be psychologically complex. Is it based on a real person ?
Still, double kudos to you. :chug:

P.S.: Your "The Cycle" peice is awesome

Yep, your painting skills definitely show through digitally. The rendering, technique--these things are above reproach. Something that distracts me though is the background.

I don't know if it's the subject matter, but the background just seems too light. You've got a surly axeman and yet there's this 'happy, cheery' background. I can see the suggestions of mountains in the back, but without clearer defined clouds, all that empty space looks strange--as if the figure is standing against a huge screen. I can understand this, though, especially since the focus is the figure.

This looks like Feeb circa 1200.

hey bud. i like the finishes piece. only concern i have is the amount of purple in the piece. color reflects mood. hes got a real serious tone, but very light pastely colors. the purple and green i see in most your painting. just my 2cp. also if yo uwant. try workin with the axe sometime, make unique in some sort of way. just ideas.

keep em comin

NIce picture :)....

But on your website....drop the "on mouse over" behaviours. It drove me crazy. I accidently moved the mouse over the "enter" link a couple of times and opened three new browser windows. Please make those links "on click"!

Mm, one thing about having the "enter" button react without clicking is that I, the user, don't know I did anything, so when that window pops up, I closed it right away, because I thought it was a Pop-up commercial window....(and we all hate those) and that was one looong final sentence :)

Grand! Very charming!

I can't say I'm all too enthusiastic about the glib background. But still, It's great.
