Here is a cover I made for the french novel "fantasy 2006" edited by bragelonne.
I hope you'll like it.

Well yes,
I like it. I like the mood and I especially like the pillar on the right and the shelf in the front of the picture. The table itself and the room behind it suffers a bit of an inconsistent lighting, it is hard to tell if the book (or what is it) on the table is glowing a light that affects the objects. They don´t seem to be affected so much. Yet there seems to be a lightsource up and leftish which creates cast shadows from the objects on the table...
Also I think you could´ve made the effects which come from the book a bit more visible... So that the viewer would see a bit better what is going on... Now it seems a tad too vague. Good work anyway.
End of crits. :D

Hiipi: You're right about the main light: it comes from the upper left, while the book emits light upwards.
I just try to have a coherent light that allows me to point out details and shadows, to make it as interesting as possible even if I have to cheat. :)
tgfx: Thanks !
White Monkey: I'm glad you like it.
DS Illustration: I find your work awesome. Thanks
Falconeye: Thanks
Seba boi: Sometimes I'd like to replace details with graphics brushstrokes, but it may take quite a lot of time before I get good at that. :)
Thanks for your comment.

...with plenty of room for the Graphic Designers to add their text without ruining your painting. Well done. Really nice, evocative piece.
