painter slow

I'm just learning painter, but have found it a little slow and 'clunky' when painting. Like the brush lags when using the airbrush, and the grabber doesnt react when I try to move the page around. The image is fairly large, 2000x1500, but I never have any problems with PS. PS runs like a ferrari in comparison.

Im just wondering, whats the min specs for painter, and are there any ways of improving the performance of painter other than what available in the preferences options. Im on a 1.8 gig PC with a gig of ram, I thought that would be heaps.

I'd hate to have to buy a new PC just to use painter.:rolleyes:

Do a search! Scroll down to the bottom of this forum (Painter 7/8 Feedback & Help forum), and in the lower right-hand corner is the search tool. Type in "slow" (without the quotes) and you'll find about 20 posts with others having the same problem.
