okay, guys. hope you like the topic. it's not easy coming up with one... :) chose this one because you can take pictures of landscapes or macro-shots, so i hope it's open to a wide range of photos...
looking forward to see your different approaches!

claudeEGYPT
January 30th, 2006, 06:42 PM
IT's actually a fountain, but yes, i know the shape is not very obvious, but it falls under the "water" category, i'll put more pictures on my next thread to make it look more obvious.. this one is for abstract purposes. Thanks for the comment though. Your photo looks very interesting.. I like how the water looks like a sheet of transparent plastic.. nice nice

I like all these pictures! YAY!

Thanks for the suggestions, Molly, I appreciate the feedback! Note to self: Read the "spirit", not the "letter", of the rules (#4)... :)

So far andres_pad's picture has my vote because I can really "feel" the water (nothing personal, claudeEGYPT)!

Stine, would you edit the rules, and correct my horrible error :D

was that sarcasm? if so its a little uncalled for as there are several errors here - it wasnt meant to be an attack on you in any way shape or form. I'm not perfect and i often make errors on message forums and msn. here i'll correct all the errors here:

Shadeofdawn, there is two things you shouldn't take to serious
1. Me, 50% of what i say is bullshit most of the time :D
2. spelling, it's not that i am offended, but who cares

wow, nice photos so far! and so many "new" faces (at least in the challenge). great!
i don't think i'll make it til tomorrow, but don't worry, the poll will be started and everything. :)
took some photos of ice cubes, but i'm a little too late with that idea...

i don't think the spelling errors were a problem for every one who was involved making the rules, but for the people who are new to this. so thanks barret for writing them down and shade for correcting them. :)

okay, i had a small photoshoot this morning. tons of work to do and i got pretty sick, too. so i basically couldn't leave the house and had to go with the stuff in my apartment it's a makro shot again, but i promise to go for some variations in my next photos...:)

wee, there it is again! thanks, barret, made my day! :)

okay, i've started the poll. took the user-names again because not everybody's photo had a title and it's a lot easier this way... but i tried to ask the poll-question in a way that it's clear you don't vote for a person but a photo... :) oh, and sorry for the typo in the poll-question, didn't see it at first and i guess i can't change it anymore...
hope everything is okay with the poll. i guess, this one's gonna be a close one again! :)

It was a really hard to choose but I finally choose andres_pad.

Heres some of my highly subjective thoughts...take it for what it is.

andres_pad I liked the pictures softness and the focus on water. What almost made me vote for someone else was that white stray.

claudeEGYPT: Nice pic but it doesn't make me think of water at all...more of fire.

sshowers: To me it felt right on target on the topic water. You're my runner up.

roshone: nice motion and colours. It was actually the glass that made me think of the topic water as it looks like melting ice. Please don't vote on yourself again it's so cheap.

al-x: I like that you divided the pic in approx half ice and half water. the trees branches made a nce frame and patterns of shade on the ice. To me the focus are more on nature and the birds than on water.

madmanxtra: nice forms.

barret_wallace: haha this pic made me think of seaweed which got me think of rotten seaweed in the summer oh the horror hehe.

stine: it's a nice pic but it doesn't make me think of water. imo the focus is on the bubbles. And theres no focal point in it a lil bit chaotic although that reflect the nature of water in some cases. I think the bubbles looks like little bald heads looking up on me... I see their noses eyes and ears...cool...It feels a little like a demonstration.

andres_pad
February 4th, 2006, 12:28 PM
yeah, i thought that exact same thing about the stray. annoying, but too late to move it
thanks for the tip tho :)

stine
February 5th, 2006, 05:21 AM
sorry, guys, but HOW DO I CLOSE A POLL?! couldn't find it... :bashful:
anyway - thanks for voting for me. like it's said in the rules there can't be a winner twice in a row. and because roshone voted for him/herself, i would say that there were actually only 4 votes for that picture. so he/she has the same number of votes as andres_pad. so i would suggest that andres_pad is the winner of this week's challenge.
what do you say, guys? is that okay?

and would somebody please tell me how to close that poll... :teeth:

asoir
February 5th, 2006, 06:02 AM
roshone's is hawt!

Barret_wallace
February 5th, 2006, 06:47 AM
Stine, when you opened the poll you sat the number of days the poll should be open, you can't close the poll any other way :D

the winner of this poll is a Little hard to decides since roshone
have gotten one more vote, but then again would roshone have voted on andres_pad? Dang! Stine decides :D

stine
February 5th, 2006, 06:55 AM
damn, didn't know that. i thought i could close it manually... sorry for that! i'm quite sick, guess, it shows... :)

asoir voted for roshone after i would've closed the poll so i didn't count his vote. so the "official" result would be:
andres_pad 4
roshone 5
stine 5

that's why i thought andres_pad would be the well-earned winner...
tell me what you think...

Barret_wallace
February 5th, 2006, 07:03 AM

stine
February 5th, 2006, 07:12 AM

CONGRATULATIONS!

andres, if you can't set next week's topic or don't want to just name somebody else, okay?

andres_pad
February 5th, 2006, 09:14 AM
awesome :D thanks guys!

can i delegate the job to somebody else tho? :bashful: i'm not really up to speed with the poll creating, and im not actually sure if im going to be home all week or not tho. i can give you my idea for a topic though,
displacement

so if somebody else wants to, (or i can try if not)

stine
February 5th, 2006, 09:22 AM
sure you can delegate -- seems to be a busy time for everybody right now...
but i guess the most important thing is a new topic, right?

and .. ahem... i know what you mean with the poll-creating... :)
