I've been posting my process work for my Thunderdome entry in the WIP forum, for those that want to see the development sketches.
The game I chose to redesign is 'Blaster Master' for the NES. I just finished the line drawing for the final design for the tank. Now I need to work on the pilot, place him in the tank image, and paint the whole shebang.
I'm mainly pleased with the final design, but I'll probably change some things in the color rendering.
The design is fairly conventional and based more in 'reality', which is the look I was going for in this exercise.

i agree with sin
good job!
just one thing.. the closest gun.. the huge one.. where it meets the head of the tank.. the lines aren't curved enough unlike the curves you have towards the the end of the gun.. dunno if it's meant to be like that.. but it kinda looks weird.. just a petty nitpick :]
must've taken ages with that amount of detail tho
would love to see this shaded Feng style!

This is exquisite, reminds me of feng's line work. Please color this.

Thanks for all the compliments and comments.
Krayz, you're right--some of my ellipses are just off. I'll go back and fix that.
R_M--the grooves inside the cannon barrel are rifling grooves; they add spin to a projectile.
Ink--It means a ton to be compared to the ID god that is Feng. I think a lot of the similarities are just in that 'design' linework--the whole thick/thin line look.
I'm in the process of painting the piece. I'll probably post the process in the other thread I have in the WIP forum.

Hey thats pretty dope.
Take a closer look at the main gun though, the perspective is way off. Is at less of an angle than the gatling gun. Thats just not possible.
Unless of course the gun can more inside the turret, then ignore this.

Yaseck, I'm not quite done with the colors, but I'll post them once the contest deadline comes along.
Nardfrog, I see the diverging perspective on the guns now. The barrels of both guns aren't heading towards the same vanishing point. Lucky for me, though, the main cannon can move up and down within the turret.
Hhahaha...crap. Necessity is the mother of excuses.
