what the fuck happend to this forum?
i cant browse here anymore. its just too damn slow. i click a link and nothing happens for like 2 full minutes. then it loads. and thats just here in the lounge. i cant do shit, and its even worse when i try and comment on a thread, it takes like 5 minutes to post my comment. and thats if i'm lucky my browser doesn't crash.
this is the only website i have this issue on.
hell even myspace runs faster than CA.org, and there are billions of people on that shithole at any given time.
anyone have any thoughts as to why this has become an issue?
is anyone else experiencing this?
^ i haven't updated my daily sketchbook thread in forever because it just takes too goddamn long to open the fucking page.
bah
thoughts?

You might want to try looking around a little before complaining in such a rude manner. Just in case, for instance, the problem has already been addressed and explained. If that were the case, you really wouldn't come out looking very good at all.
Maybe you could try starting your search here.

Suck it up princess, you can deal with it. Now before making anyother asinine posts like this i suggest you go and read the post that 0kelvin linked to. Because its on the same page in the lounge that you made not one but TWO of these retarded thread. For the love of all things holy think and do a little research before you open your mouth. Because despite the trouble and the slowness that people are encountering everyone else seems to let this place run fine, the speed at which the site loads seems to change alot from time to time, so if it isnt working to great at one moment maybe you should come back half an hour later.

This has been reported to the hosts and they are working on it. The entire ca database was messed up a few weeks ago and it is slowly getting fixed. For example I was finally able to send the newsletter yesterday after that being down. The current hosts are fixing the problem and it should be just a few days before this stuff begins to settle down.
it makes me crazier than you...trust me on that.

thankyou stoph
and i was complaing because i LOVE this fucking forum. i've been coming here for YEARS. so next time why dont u guys give someone the benefit of the doubt before "opening your mouths" and making yourself look like dicks.
i wasn't being rude okelvin, i dont know where you got that idea.
no need for you guys to be dicks to me.
i stated very clearly in my original post that i cant even browse the site. which means, i cant fucking search for threads that are already posted.
people make mistakes ya know, im not god.
this forum used to be more laid back, now everyone gets all pissy when you do something they dont like.
fucking chill
btw, it took 15 full minutes for that thread to go through, my browser crashed, and i didn't think it posted anyway.
so i gave up and went to bed.
i didnt' realize it had even made it through.
and your right red rook, the site isn't so slow today. well, right now anyway.
if you guys are moderators, go ahead and delete my thread.

im surprised it acctually makes your browser crash, despie some severe slowness ive never acctually had that happen. Also to satisfy my own curiosity, what internet speeds are you running on, because for most users it seems to be functional atleast.

yeah we had major server problems thanks to a retarded hosting company we attempted to use. the ruined the servers. we had to purchase new servers (expensive as hell), back up giant loads of data in multiple locations, and then transfer everything to the new machines. we are having a bug where our stats is overwhelming the processors. the hosts have been notified and they are working on it early this week.
I spend just about every moment of my free time working on this stuff. I have had to hire extra hands and even then the hosting mess cost us nearly two months of development time on getting the new tech finalized. Progress is coming though. I am hoping four more weeks til everything is perfect and all updates with new tech are final.
if you know php and want to help, that would be appreciated.

100 MBps? So how much do you pay, like $3000 a month?
Also, you asked where we got the idea that you were rude; well we may have gotten that particular idea, from your initial post. That's just my guess though, some people may not have minded your unnecessary swearing over an issue that has already been posted about saying that everyone is working their asses off to get it fixed.

100 million BITS a second...not 100 MegaBytes a second. But yea that would be pretty sweet. I never bitch about the servers being slow because I don't have to pay for them. CA could start charging membership fees...then you would be allowed to bitch and complain all you want.

He never implied either so my guess is as good as yours, though since were talking about bandwidth you'd probably be correct.

Hey Jason,
I just want to thank you for all the hard work going on. I run a studio full time, do art, deal with clients, etc. But it's on a much smaller scale then you brother- so I know how hard I work and can't imagine you being able to work less then 10 times as much.
and thanks to that crew you've got working on the forums also, don't know who you are, but much appreciated.

ok...new server tech is coming...traffic is overwhelming the stats stuff but it is being resolved. you should notice a little better speed on the site tonight and even better as the week goes on.
sheesh...i so cant wait to have everything fixed. it eats up my time having to fix what the old hosts broke and make sure the new hosts have everything done properly.

ok I think we got it.
Let me know if there are more issues with the speed of the site. We are adding some new hardware to help speed things up even more. Should be just a few days now.
