Self Portrait, Bed Head II

I've been learning oils for the past couple of months (was a watercolorist!), and practicing my favorite subject, the portrait. here's one of me called Bed Head II (16x20'')

I think you did a killer job on this one. There's a really great feeling to it. The red in it that seems to hide in all the other colors is really nice. There are some proportional issues around the shoulders and chest and maybe in parts of the face. But my eye passes over them in favor of the color and feeling. If that's a first attempt at a new medium then I'm impressed.

I've visited your site before and I really like your watercolor portraits. Keep it up.

sic1, doh @ my host... I don't know if it is having problems, but I posted it on another server, hopefully it'll show up this time!

Buffalo - thanks for the comments, I still have to adapt to "losing the drawing" underneath all that opaque paint (a problem I never encountered with watercolors), so drawing problems occur.. soon as I get my confidence built up with drawing with just the paint brush, I hope i don't have measuring problems again... thanks about my wc portraits :}
