View Full Version : Spiderman's New Duds?

Am I the only one who thinks this is a terrible concept? Not to mention that the anatomy on the piece is quite shitty for a professional work. (what's up with his right leg?)

Backstory is supposedly something about Spiderman getting new powers, and a new suit from Iron Man. I suppose that explains the color scheme and the claw-arms to some degree. Still doesn't excuse it though.

I think this new Iron Man looks kind of cool. It gives him a bit more agile, Spiderman feel to him. I'm kind of missing the metal nipples, though...

And claws coming out of the rectum? Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition.

I don't see what there is to get upset over, the comic has been pretty much awful for at least 10 years if you ask me. I don't know, maybe somewhere in the past few years they picked up the pieces or something, but I doubt it.

Oh god, dave, you have no idea. Babylon Five Guy has decided that Gwen was a who got secretly knocked up by Norman Osborn, and Spidey is really just the lastest manifestation of some Spider God or something. :nohope:

I don't understand - I haven't kept up with Spiderman stuff for a long while, but I thought spiders have 8 limbs...

The ankle and the arse-claw (book title, anyone?)... ugh.

silentkitty

It looks like there's supposed to be two limbs on the bottom there, maybe..? Or maybe it's just one that's drawn strangely, I'm not sure.

back to... '76? I wouldn't say awful. I was all into the Romita Sr. era, and there were definately some ups and downs between the death of Gwen Stacy and the birth of Venom (which is where I signed off), but I say they were solid well into the early 80s, and reached unspeakable lows in the 90s.

Same with the X-men. Started a little shakey, hit their stride in the 70s, then tapered off around '84.

More Marvel crap. Is it just me or does this "new" suit kind of look like the one Spider-Woman wore in the 80's? These silly costume changes are there to keep everyone's minds off of the bad writing that I'm assuming is going on. Sales must be down.

well i'm surprised none of you have caught on yet, this is obviously a more violent spiderman, rather than his old antics of being a wiseass while he ties you up to street poles, this new spiderman will claw you to death while chattering. the meeting with the writers probably went something like this.
person a: spiderman is good but he needs to be badder.
person b: yeah! an edge, kids love an edge to their superheroes now, like wolverine!
person c: yeah! extreme!
person d: very extreme! yeah!
person a: let's give him claws!
tristian: and let's bring back the spider mobile!

First comic I ever picked up was in the early 90s, a McFarlane Spidey with something to do with Kraven's bride and a subjugated Lizard. It friggin' blew me away. I had no clue that a comic could be so deliciously dark and morbid...it opened my eyes to the possibilities of the genre even at a young age. That said, I then went and read all the original issues, as the new ones didn't hold my attention for long. I was more of an X-Men guy myself. Omega Red rules! Long live the Communist threat!

I liked when spidey got his suit infected with the blackcrap from outerspace, and it morphed to make new clothes andwhatnot.

That thing was cool...then it went evil..and made venom, and then later carnage.

Yup. It could turn into a regular street car too. Johnny Storm built it for Spiderman, but the engine was an ultra fuel-efficient one donated by some company.

That would make it too much like Miller's Dark Knight, which was actually pretty good, which Spidey has not been since Mc Farlane took over.

Honestly - I hate this new outfit. >:{

he will later own a hammer and shoot laser beams with the eyes.

a very american move from them. perhaps looking for a new audience for some fast bucks.and totaly ignore the charm of the original and later the company will crash.

Yeech... so Spiderman is becoming flying-shiny-buttclaw-bendy-rubber-bones man... This has got to be a story-arc thing... please tell me that's all it is.

Of course if they really wanted to make him more anatomically spider-like, the webbing would shoot out of his ass too. Now there's something for all those muggers he webbed to telephone poles to think about.

the crazy power chose him to be the next world saviour, and he stopped a giant robot from destroying the world. for this reason,he had a captain universe costume change and matching powers. after having defeated the robot,it disappeared.

The best "alternative" Spidey suit is the black Venom version.

Check out Kravens last hunt. Spidey looked his coolest ever..
