This was done as a skin rendering exercise. I based the figure on a loose pencil sketch by Chru! who I might be working with on a graphic novel comic thing. Crits, comments, or whatever always warmly welcomed. Enjoy!

It looks very magical, nice job making the wings translucent.

This looks so soft and warm...well done, Anthony! Also awesome work by Chru...the movement is perfect...the arms, legs and the hair play well together!

this picture is badass, but the face bothers me. It dosent have the depth that the rest of the figure does. I love the body so much. You rendered it beautifuly. I know it would be hard to change now but her neck is too short. I see that you want her head in a slightly downward position, but I realy think its too low. Anyway if its not to late for you to make ajustments, i think you could end up with a superb piece. Oh yeah I like the texture in the BG a lot as well.

no depth in the face (read: flat) I dont like the eyes :D the right hand looks weird. .too small and big palm .. why not make the hair a litte more natural?

nice colours and wings, otherwise.. Anthony, you're really good at coloring

So you focused on the skin. cool ! I wonder where the blue radiosity on her breasts come from tho. I don't say it's bad ; I like it ! I was just wondering. Another thing ; the wings are biooootifully rendered but their perspective seem strange.
Oh and one other thing that pushed me to comment your picture ; the background is AWESOME. I know it's silly -P7 brushes are nice aren'T they- but the texture on the upper left and right is nice. It's gritty and yet it suprisingly works with your subject and rendering. Nicely done

Wow, thanks for all the feedback guys! Chevalier, EH? You've gotta sing a song to get off this boat :D

Montross - Gracias

Fozzybar - Thanks! Chru's gonna be awesome

alex-g - Hehe

nardfrog - Thanks so much on that neck comment! I fixed it now, it helps so much making her more elegant. I tried to fix the face a little, and make her even more animalistc/playful, but am not sure how to give it more depth. Wish I could, can you help?

Tomasis - Help on the face? I'm lost on how to give it depth(still a newbie ya know!) I fixed the hand, and tried to fix the hair, took away a lot of bulk, and made it less tube like.

egerie - Thanks! There's a cooler section in the lower right of the pic, that's where it comes from :] The grit in the BG is actually from the BG I painted over to get this one. The other one I did in Painter with the Square brush tool(mostly) and a killer set of textures/papers to work with. Here's the old BG, that I'm going to be making into its own image(but it'll take awhile, too many plants to define/detail, gah!)

Hey cool thanks ! I need to get my grubby little hands on a real painter version (and not classic) and try the brushes you pointed out.
For your background, I don't think you need to add an excrutiating amount of detail everywhere. As Craig or maybe Jason would say, you only need to put details where you want to draw focus and/or where you want the viewer's eye to go.
2c !
