wow man, really has a lot of depth. like your concept...your sketch is very well done and the digital process you show is definitely strong. keep this work up :). lets see him in action now!

My only critique on this would be to tone down the depth on the outer abdomen/ribcage. It appears he has an extra set of abdominal muscles.
I like the color and wispy smoke though. Very good atmosphere.

Even if it's a djinn... his belly muscles look weird, like popping out... rather unhealthy. The rendering (esp. of the smoke) is really nice, though.

argg....stands out like a sore arse when I look. YOu should never carry on into the small hours when the glass-in-the-eyes problem starts. Many thanks for the input.

I like it, the only thing that bugs me is the curve on the blade and the angle of the handle, seems like it would be awkward to hold. maybe if the handle was curved it would improve things? regardless, it looks nice and its only a minor detail.

hehe my3belka it all depends on what type of sword it is...most swords like that the handle doesnt curve like that the blade is like that - just wider but prob not as much of a curve as he has. swords are interesting to study- take a look at some martial arts movies, the sword could be a variation of one.
Btw Great redo i just noticed the abs too but you redid it well. good work

i agree w/all the positives that people have said so far. i recommend using reference from now on though. there are still an abundance of anatomy issues. the arm on the viewers left side looks pretty good. but the entire right side of the torso looks as if it is growing outwards and to the right putting the entire character off balance. also, i feel there is a subtle twist going on in the overall stance. but i don't see this happening anywhere in the waist area.
the smoke/purple light thingy is rendered VERY nicely...excellent job there. it just seems to stand out more than the character due to the anatomy issues.
just my 2 cents. i love it when i get crits so...i'm just trying to point some things out. you will obviously and only will get better with practice so....keep it up.
