I'm in the process of working on a writing project that I'm going to try and have published traditionally, but if not I'll self-publish - and to do that, I'm going to need something to really make it stand out. It's a very Stephen King/Dark Tower kind of work, with great graphic novel leanings. (In fact, there is a character that I would LOVE to spin off in a graphic novel or two.) I have two fellows working on some art for me, and they've already done some nice pics, but they are very busy with their real-world jobs, and I hate to bug them. My plan is to self-publish and try to hit a few comic cons; maybe it could be a partnering and you could get your art out at a few comic cons, too. And hey, if it I make it big....;) yeah, right....maybe I can do more for you than signed book and credit/link on my website. As it is, I can give you credit on my website and in the book, your url (if you have one) in my book and on my website, the copyright will be yours, (I'm true self-publishing, not POD'ing, so no rights will be lost), and promotion at some comic cons, if I can get to some. Some of my sample chapters are at http://www.kevinlucia.net/samplechapters, and the password to read them is abbygail. Read some, if they inspire some sketches, send them to me. I have some more visual, intense passages that I'm still working on, and if you're interested...
Anyway, the website for my work is: www.kevinlucia.net, check it out and get back to me. It's an imaginative enough work, enough to let you have a lot of creative fun!
Regards,
Kevin Lucia

Your work looks good; right up the alley for the story I'm writing. It's a very Dean Koontz type thing...very spiritual/supernatural. Were you interested in doing some sketches for me? I could provide some MUCH more visually interesting samples than what I have on the website.
I will be done by the end of Summer 2006, so there is plenty of room to work. I know that like writing, art is not something that comes overnight. One thing that I really want re-done is the cover. I'm handy with Photoshop, so I was able to put something together with public domain pictures, and it came out okay....but what I really hate is the fact that I photoshopped a pic of myself on there. It looks okay...but it's kinda arrogant/unprofessional to put a picture of oneself on the cover as a character (in my view, anyway).

Check out the website, see if it's a project that you'd like to be connected to. Just so you know, I do have two other folks working on some drawings, but they are very, very busy people; and seeing as how this is just the first book of many, and I would also love to create some promotional materials and spin graphic novels as well, there is plenty of work to go around and room for 'props' for all (As in, for people to get their 'props'. I can hear my junior high students moaning in dismay at my pitiful attempt to be 'all that'.) Besides, I think the more people working on it, the better the end product will be.
Thanks for responding!
