Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and fairly new to photography. I bought a Canon S2 IS about two months ago and have been having an awesome time taking pictures! I couldn't/can't afford an SLR but I wanted to be able to have a fairly versatile camera. I have several of my shots on photobucket.com. My username is 1Josiah86, Here are some urls of some of my favorites, let me know if the links don't work, and I'd love to hear you're comments:) oh and I use photoshop to edit my images.

...wow. Your first photo is so sureal with it's colors and bloom effect it's marvalous. I love the neutral tone of the train tracks as well not sure why it's just so pleasing to look at. I would suggest putting some space in between your photos. This was suggested to me by another member and it's worth hitting "return". Keep posting!!

I like your stuff. My favorite is the b&w shot with the pole and the spiderweb. I like the composition in that one.
You have very vibrant colors in the first pic, which is nice. I also like the brown leaf with light shining through it, because you can see its texture very clearly. The blurry tree in the foreground is somewhat distracting though.
Welcome to the forum! :)

Hey thanks guys for the comments!
I agree with you Morbid, the blurry branch is a bit distracting, I tried cropping it but then the leaf was way too low in the picture.
I've been doing a lot of experimenting and I've really begun to love black and white, although I always shoot in color and convert so that I can fiddle around with contrast better. lol and it seems that one of my favorite photos didn't show up so here's that and a few more:)
if you like these feel free to visit my photobucket...username: 1Josiah86 it's mostly up to date although I have yet to post some of my very recent stuff (as in the past few days)

i really like your stuff! You have a great eye for composition (why is it that everyone who says they're new to photography is really good at it?). You seem to like playing with desaturating or oversaturating the colour to make it seem surreal, or just getting rid of the colour completely. The leaf in the tree is my favourite, but the foreground blur is a shame.
Where do you live?
The first picture reminds me of gotham city, or perhaps a futuristic city.
Please do add space to the first set of photos as they are visually impacting eachother right now (also one of the image tags is in the wrong place so we cant see one image)
by all means please post more!

Thanks ShadeOfDawn, means a lot coming from you after seeing your portfolio thread!
I'm from Edmonton AB, Canada and that shot you said looked futuristic is of a bridge called the "high level bridge" (not very creative). Actually some of those black and whites are from there as well. The train tracks run above the road for the cars.
I'm going to add a couple of people shots just to show and then i'll hold off on any more photos and give people a chance to comment hehe. The ice carver is one of my favorites, as for the girl, i'm happy with the composition but i'm not sure I like the blur effect I gave it. I'm probably going to mess around with it some time eventually.
