Hey everyone, I'm working on a concept right now of a female in a form-fitting, glowy 'cybersuit'(like the ones in Bubblegum Crisis, or Samus's Powersuit in Metroid) and after some sketching I've found that I have no idea where to start.
Does anyone have any good tips on making a manned robotic suit? Like, what would I need to include? Is there some really good website out there Google's not finding for me? Any help is appreciated; I'm anxious to make my own suit :)

Just take note of the kind of suits you like. Remember function when designing your suit; I see often times mecha suits with useless parts and tubes going every which way. Some people like it like that; I prefer minimalistic, I guess.
Bubblegum Crisis did have some cool suit designs.

Are you making this as a real world costume, or as an image?
In both cases, you'll find that most commonly, these suits reinforce the major joints (knees, elbows, shoulders), provide some manner of rigid neck protection (okay, not always, but it's practical), and usually fit so tightly as to leave nothing to the imagination. I prefer suits that also show some manner of functionality, rather than all glamour - for this I suggest Appleseed over Ghost In The Shell, and BGC's Hardsuits over the thinsuit inner layers.
Being stuck at work, I have no ability to do a quick scan and upload for you, I'm afraid. :(

Cybersuits tend to be an abstract version of your muscles, or a different look at if the body was simplified.
But it can be done any way, just needs to fit your style and what your customer wants.

koroshiya: Don't worry man, I hate it when people concept something with useless parts. Function's my first priority in design :) Ok, maybe it's a close second to cool ;)
jemstone: It's an image, I'm no good at real costumes. Don't feel bad about the upload, although if you have the time for one I'd appreciate it :) I'll keep your advice in mind, thanks a bunch.
tskills: I don't like the abstracted muscle look; going for the sturdy but quick and streamlined look.
