hi, this is my first post, i was surfing this forum for the last couple of weeks, now it seems to be the rigt place for me to get some help.

below is the artwork for a game i am programming, as you can see its a minigolf game.
this is my first try on digital art, done in photoshop and without a grafik tablet.
i am stuck and have no idea how to improve it, but i know itīs just not looking "correct". I dont have the time to lay it down for a couple of days, so i hope you guys can help me and point out some mistakes.

wow dude, i love it! how do you do stuff like that, cause some friends and i are working on a game and we wanna learn this stuff...

its not made up of perfect squares---each section becomes more narrow

look at bottom square its oblong

thank you guys, below is another pic of the process, i changed the overall design a bit and fixed the squares(thanx tyboogie). but i am still not satisfied maybe you guys see something i dont or can give me some tips.

i think this time the image will show up. at least it does in the preview.

@ sin: i started planaing the level on a isometric grid (easiest for programming) then i put some textures together (mostly with ps7 brushes) and mapped them on the isometric construction, the whole process took less than 3 hours.
