Here's something I did today in photoshop. I wanted to make a robot / machine that shows emotion. I think that worked out quite well.

However I'm dissapointed about the rendering and the blood layer didn't turn out the way I wanted. I fooled around with the scattering of the brush a bit, but I didn't know at all how to make it look good. I anyone has tips on how to make a good blood splashing-ish brush, please tell me.

Comments, critiques and paintovers are very welcome.

I think the splatter is just a bit too unified, like someone took a sponge and dabbed him for a bit.... try to vary the blood splatter, maybe with some streaks, small blobs, etc.

Also, blood gets much darker when it's thicker. Try to add some dark areas to where the blood would be thickest.

Looks good and happy painting.

Looking great man(nice, simple working style).

I also like the variety in linework.Try to make the eyes glow, I'd love to see that reflected light on the parts around those eyes too. :)

I honestly think you should let this piece go and start a fresh one though...

I'm not sure I feel emotion in the robot. It could be he's just looking curiously at his hand.
