I really had to force myself to start a new thread here on Conceptart.org - Lately I rarely browsed topics, not to mention post something myself, unfortunately. I've been busy with quite some things, but I decided to put some work in portraits: Especially those of women.

Two things which really need attention in my work. All of these are done with photo references - Then I must say I'm like the happiest guy on earth to actually be able to receive such great references, from such a beautiful person... We share the same school - Which she lightens up with the bright light she brings with her. She's 17 years and plays violin, which can be seen in one of the first drawings of her...

I hope I can show some progress here, and get some help ofcourse.

Hello, Rowan. From your portraits this girl feels like she is not from our world. Her essence is slipping away from the me. She is hard to read. In all portraits she is looking away, no eye contact, she laughing at her inner thoughts and doesn't want to indicate what she is going through in current moment. I would guess she is very independent and not very handful. And you have a great interest in her.
It is very elegant rendering, and you are using lines to express yourself in very unusual manner.I would say very well thought out manner, very persistent to catch this whimsical nature of your model. In result you have airy, a bit on the strange side, very moody (I can add dreamy, subconscious) portraits.
My favorite isthe one her with violin. Beautiful, looks very intimate, like thoese two talking.
I'll save it, if this OK with you.
