New WIP(Mucha influence)

I know its a WIP but I got no crit on the WIP section. Hope its okay to post an unfinished here...what do you think?

Lookin' alright so far. Why can you not see her neck in your version? Other than that, Just keep going with it. Is she going to be sitting on something?

I like the boots.

Ah, thank you for showing your ref! I like your more modern take on this pose and her face is excellent so far.

Ok, your girl has a back hump. Notice how Mucha's babe has a flatter, gently sloping upper back? This is because of her relaxed posture but also because we are seeing her back at more of a 3/4 front angle than a profile; your girl's back seems to be in profile and lacks that plane.

Her hips and arse are reading as small. Granted, Mucha's girls tend to have pudge, but your girl's hips still seem tiny. Her arse also is angled out a bit behind her and doesn't seem to be supporting her weight underneath her.

Her pants are s'posed to be baggy and that's great for her character, but you haven't defined the form of her leg underneath. It looks like she stuffed her pant legs with crumpled up newspaper. Google up some ref for baggy pants and look at how they would drape over her legs.

Finally, her shoes! Her left foot (our right) with the sole angled out towards us itsn't working. The shoe seems to almost read in profile, yet there is the sole of her boot angled as it her foot is tilted. Angles like this are HARD so again, I suggest you put on your clunkiest shoes and sketch yourself cross-legged in front of a mirror.

If you like, I can do a paintover to show you what I mean about her hips and back. I just don't have a chance to at the moment. :)

Very helpful stuff! Ive got the repainted version done(still in progress overall though). I see what you mean by all the non female characteristics playing here. For the pants and the boots I think I'll have to ask my wife to model for me. (Will post update soon)
