Freetings to all of you superior artists! Most of my drawings are either very bad or done in the anime style (usually both), but I hope that you'll crit these few examples of my few conventional art pieces.

I didn't really like this assignment. we had to make our own grid, draw a portrait, then shade it with patterns. *odd*

My final project for Drawing 1, Aragorn! I porbably shouldn't have drawn half of it in mech pencil, huh? Detail and poorly scanned full version.

Well, that's all for now. Any C+C you'd care to give would be greatly appreciated. And just let me say one more time how great I think all of you on this board are! You're truly an inspiration.

NOTE: I may have posted some of these earlier. If you've seen them before, I apologize. I post my stuff on way too many boards to keep track of 100% of my posts.

Awesome stuff!!! I like Aragon's hair and clothing very much. One thing bothering me and my eyes keep going back to it trying to make sense of it, is the dark outline of the shadow below his right eye. Other than that, I love it. :hearts:

Yeah the problem with filters is they fucking suck. If you really want to use one, i suggest making a second layer (in photoshop) and copying the image on to that layer, so you have two of the same image, one on each layer. Ya follow? Then apply the filter to the top layer and lower the opacity greatly so the filter isnt so intense. Then if you want you cant flatten the pic and smudge it and whatnot.

good luck

Well, to tell you the truth, the original looked even worse than that, since it wa sonly a quick homework assignment. I just thought the filter made it look interesting.
