torsos and dinos

Here's a few recent studies from photo ref. Sorry about the crappy scan, either my scanner sucks or I'm doing something wrong... Anyway, please feel free to crit.

I like the first torso and the last two dinos, they remind me of jurassic park. I think do to your scan, this is a good thing, I can see a smoother gradation of shadow --Which I like very much.

The scan looks ok, If you want it darker just turn up the contrast a bit. I usually do an auto-levels in photoshop for my scans, as they're pretty light. In doing so, I lose some smoother gradiants sometimes, but I'm cool with it, for now.
