Ok, I really want a wacom tablet. I spend alot of time in front of the computer, and a tablet would be really nice. But I can't get it until I have, hopefully with your help, solved one problem. I can't draw lines. I have to move the mouse reeeealy slow if I want to draw a line. On the picture here I have tried to draw a simple square around that wierd line. You can't see any sqaures, only big dots.

See what I mean? Which means I can't sketch on the computer.>:|
EDIT: Let's hope the picture works now..

Thanks a lot for the answer! Now I now how to draw lines, but that wasn't quite my problem. You see, let's say I want to skech something, lika, a bird in photoshop. I have to move my mouse extremely slow unless i want it to be big gaps in the lines... damn, it's hard to explain. Here's the link to the pic: http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload0/Bild3-vnt.jpg Wierd, I can see it in my thread, but not when I press the link. Anyway, thanks for taking time, it's probably just some settings I have adjusted wrong or something.

I can't see the image either. "The image “http://files.upl.silentwhisper.net/upload0/Bild3-vnt.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors."
I think you can't sketch with a mouse, at least something that looks good. You have to buy a tablet.

I can't see either the image or the link. :(
Sorry, a tablet is pretty much necessary if you want to get serious about digital art.
If your computer is slow, it won't be fun to paint with. Keep that in mind.
Check to make sure the "spacing" parameter on the brush editor is pretty low.

I agree with data, i suggest that for now just learn to sketch(on paper) or maybe just learn more about other photoshop features, because tablet is really neccesary for digital painting and drawing in ps :\

I can't see the picture either but I think the problem is spacing.

Yeah, I know. The problem is, that if I buy a tablet, I won't be able to sketch. I guess it's just my computers fault. I'll try to fix the picture. Thanks for all the answers anyway!
So, I fixed a new picture. I've only tried to draw with the pencil, nothing complicated. And this is what happens:

The problem is definitely brush tip spacing. Look in the upper right for "Brushes." Then go to "Brush Tip Shape." In the menu you will find a slider labeled "Spacing." Move the slider to the left to increase the frequency the "dots" show up making a solid line, not what you are experiencing now.

The problem is that you have spacing turned off entirely. That means that if you move the mouse/stylus quickly, the stroke gets thinned out. Turn on the spacing and use a pretty low value (5% or so). Then you should be able to sketch without those annoying gaps. Good luck!

Thanks so much, both of you! I have been struggling with this problem for a very long time, and nobody knew what to do. Lucky I found ConceptArt!:teeth:
