A mural you mean?
If so I believe that lots of people who do this just use latex house paint.

Actually, there are several different ways you can go. If your drawing is on paper, you could go to any local Kinko's and shrink the drawing down to 8.5X11.5" and use a projector to transfer the drawing to the wall. Then you could use regular house paint, or (I like) acrylics. I also use an array of airbrush's and hand brush's.

I'm not sur what your question is. Are you asking what kinds of paints to use or are you asking how to get the design onto the wall?

Well you can use an opaque projecter if you have one or have the picture copied onto a sheet of clear plastic film and then use an overhead projecter. In either case you shine the image on the wall and trace the lines with a pencil.

Or if the mural is not going to be too big you could just take your sketch to a copy shop and have them blow it up as big as they can. If they can make it big enough you can rub graphite onto the back of the paper and trace it right onto the wall like it was a big piece of carbon paper.

Or you could just re-draw it on the wall. I like to use water soluable colored pencils for this because you can wash away any stray marks.

good luck, and show us pictures of how it turns out.

There is also the low-tech but more time consuming method of using a grid. Make a copy of your drawing and draw a series of perpendicular lines to create a grid of 1-inch squares (or whatever unit of measure you prefer) that covers your drawing.

Next, draw a larger grid on your wall, about the size you want the artwork to be. The larger grid should have the same number of rows and columns as the grid on your drawing.

Start with one square on the wall and draw the lines you see in the corresponding square in your drawing as close as you can get it. Do the same with the other squares as you work your way across the grid.

For the grid drawing on your wall, you may want to experiment with different pencils to see which ones are easier to erase. I would do this behind a large piece of furniture where it won't be seen.
