Eraser is exremely slow...

I'm not sure what's the problem, even if I'm using a simple round brush on a white background, it takes about 5 seconds to erase a line out of it. Does anyone know how to fix this?

It could jsut be your computer that is slow! Allso change the preferences in photoshop settings for it uses up 80% of your resources! Give that a whirl then hit me back with a line/.///

I don't think speed is a problem, I just added a gig of ram and everything sped up except the eraser, it just stayed put. I'll do some searches...
