the ground perspective seems a bit odd to me, but i suck at that myself so i won't comment, but the tree and figure and the sky and the ground and the stuff.... so beautiful

Whoa man I have to say this, your brushing techniques are off the charts. very good detail! Looks almost fantasy like (and is to my eyes) like you could skip along the forest seeing the leaves fall. neat stuff!

Thanxs a lot folks
i am really happy that you liked it

i feared that this kind of subject and mood would not really interest people.

davi : you are right, i think that the character is not really exactly fitting "in" the ground ... but i will do my best next time, and it was too late to try to fix it here

endregan : i am glad that you like the mood, i would love to be in a place like this, only focusing on falling petals ... and nothing else to disturb me =)

This is a pic everyone at this site should see, completely different than most things here. I love the colors.

One thing though, most of the picture (all but the guy) has a loose and textured feel to it, but the guy is quite detailed and refined. I understand he is small, but I would have left him a bit more textured and not so saturated. If you knock down that poppy red suit he has on (ever so slightly), the whole pic would have great color harmony.

keep it up.

I love this! This is by far one of the most beautiful images I have seen at conceptart. Thank you for sharing this with us. It's so easy to get traped within a certain subject matter and style, but this image transcends both time and space and was still able to retain a heavy sense of culture. The details are stunning, but what completely captured my imagination when I saw it was the overall composition, from the sky to the young man in red, which is extremly simple yet powerful. I do agree that the position he's standing doesn't look like he's under the tree, but this image is finished to the point that there's no room for modifications. I eagerly look forward to hear and see more from you.

Unique style! And I like the contrast between the landscape and the figure. What kind of project was this for - or does it stand on its own?

Others had said all I would say, so I will just chime in that I enjoyed this one immensely.

mushuhaha : wow thanxs, you made my day :) I am really glad that this picture is speaking to you. And I will try to do my best for my next works ... i hope i wont disappoint you, nor myself :)

nardfrog : i guess you are right, i wanted to have a good contrast between the background and the character, but i overdid it a little :)

Jester : thanxs for the kind words, in fact it is simply a piece for my portfolio, i have an exam in 2 months. I am trying to enter an illustration school in France, but directly into 3rd year (it is a 5 years school) since I already have the degrees needed to apply, but i still need to be "accepted" =)

Erik and Tedsuo : thanxs a lot

This is great. Like davi said about the perspective. But I love that guy!
