Help Disappearing Brushes?

Hello Guys,
I seem to have a strange problem with my painter 7 brushes,and I am very new to this program. I was making a picture when 2 of my tinting brushes, blender and round brushes,vanished without trace . I tried loading the brushes again and it didn't work. I have no idea how to fix this problem. Thanks for your input.

Hi,

By "vanished" do you mean the brush variant names are greyed out?

Go to your file manager and delete all of the cached variants. Those are the .XML brush variants for which the file name begins with "c_". They store temporary user settings so if they're deleted no harm is done. You'll still have the default brush variants.

You should be able to do this from within Painter 7 as well:

Hold down the Alt/Option key and, in the Brushes palette's Variant menu, choose Restore Default Variant. When you're asked if you really want to do this, click the OK button. Then, without holding down the Alt/Option key, choose Restore Default Variant one more time to ensure the current variant is restored to its default settings.

This deletes the cached variants.

Just to refresh everything, load another brush library, then load the original one again and you should now see all of your brush variants.. not greyed out any more.
