Are you looking for more info on painting itself, or how to set up a painting to effectively lead the eye?

For compositional Check out a book called "Design & Composition Secrets of Professional Artists," published by International Artist magazine. ISBN# 1-929834-09-8. It has artists break down their paintings into steps, from sketch to final painting.

I'm sure others here can give you good recommendations on painting books.
