Hi, this is my first post.
I just started drawing around 1 and a half weeks ago. I'm 14 years old.
I live in the United Kingdom and I would like to persue a career in art of some form, hopefully digital.
I'm sorry I don't have a scanner yet so I've had to take photographs which are awefull quality.
These are my favourite ones I have drawn in the last week, but I will continue and update my sketch book regulary.
Thanks,
Jack

Good start with the face, because i can see you understand to define dark and bright areas with shading. Biggest problem is the shape around the mouth and the cheekbones (too low). But you are really young and you have all time of the world. So use it wisely and keep going :) .

hi there!
good start with your sketchbook, even though it's hard to say much about the had studies, because of the quality of the photos. It's great you ar doing them though!
And I agree with Skureal, very good start with the face, I really like how you put the shadows, you might watch the eyes a bit, too, they don't seem to be on the same level and the right (for the viewer) one seems to be a bit smaller.
Looking forwards to seeing more!

Ok, this is Icecube, it took me 1 hour and a half.
I used a 2b and a hb pencil.
Im struggling with the darker tones so Im going to go and get myself some softer pencils this weekend.
Oh and ignore the neck/shoulders bit.

Oh yeh, and my 3rd attempt at a digital painting. I know it sucks but I'm proud because at least it has some sort of form unlike my other blobs of colour attempts. Spent a while on this, around 1 hour.

Your sketches look very good, especially considering your age. Anatomy it seems is the crux of creating visual representations of humans and animals, and it looks like your making a good start so keep it up.
You sound determined and hopefully you will go far in what you want to do. I've always had a dream to do artwork mainly for 3d animation, but somewhere along the line it's got a bit corrupted by joining what I think is entirely the wrong course at university. I hope you don't have this problem, you shouldn't as long as you think hard about what route to take to get you to where you want to be.

Stew. Thanks so much for your comment, extremly helpful, yes my dream is to one day be a digital matte painter. I have a long way to go, I know. But Im prepared to do what it takes. I've got to choose my work experience soon. I want to do something to do with art, preferably digital art. Any ideas that are appropriate and wouldn't be difficult to get to?
Thanks again,
Jack
