these are pretty nice- but the second one really lacks. i think it's missing crucial darkspots needed to accurately illustrate the form. oh, and that weird yellow value all over the place is kind of making it seem like she's got some sort of skin condition. so try emphasizing an obvious lightsource by brightening/darkening some areas. keep it up

love the feeling of the third one

her hand is way too big though; from bottom of palm to tip of middle finger is about distance from chin to hairline

I love the way you've done the hair. Skin feels rough still, but i am so blown away by your hair skills, i hardly noticed. :)

seems to me you are afraid of the open eye! :P hope not!!! cos these are very nice! i think where you have left areas kinda washy and less detailed, do work - but not when you have a majority of areas that are detailed and crisp. EIther sort out the balence or go for one or the other in terms of style.:)

Thanks for the comments, I like to keep things washy an expressive. Not much to say about each one, the 1st is a straight forward fairy. 2nd is a portrait of a friend so it had to be more or less exact. I had to do this one very quickly, but still pleased with the results. The 3rd one I changed the hair and lighting style from the original photo, (twas a psp background picture.) This peice was done mainly to work out a technique of realisticly creating hair, So I didnt want to get too caught up in the finer detail of the rest of the peice, hence hiding the eye and a simple pose. Still new to digital painting, only started seriously in September.
