You're being way too general, how detailed? I mean, it could just be a quick doodle, maybe some examples of how in depth the detail is?

I'm pretty sure he doesn't mean a quick doodle, those are kinda self-explanatory.
Usually people say how long. They range from 4 hours to maybe 10.

Lord Blue is right on here...I've got a couple in mind that I've been stalling off on because I know I'm going to be in for 40-60 hours to get what I want...
I have a curse most of you don't have. I no longer work for outside clients or go to school, so I sit and putz. Six hours into something, I'll get a better idea on how to handle something and go back to scratch...just because I CAN. That, and the fact that I do very detailed work in Illustrator bezier, can really screw my time frame up.
For me, client stuff was done as fast as possible because of deadlines, but in real painting, I've spent as much as 150-300 hours over a period of five-seven years to get something done. This year, I'm going to be painting for the first time in nearly 45 years without outside interruptions, so hopefully, my time will speed up a little bit...heeheeheehee...

4 days. 11 am-2am. That was my last work. x_x; That's cause I was learning about the functions in ps as well to learn how to paint.
Anyways. o.O;
I hope I can speed up my paintings a bit so I won't have to sit here all day. >.<'
