Hello, I am Craig, and I am new to this forum and I was hoping to find someone that could help me draw monster/fantasy like creatures.. like a tutorial on the basics as I am not very good at "making up" creatures, or putting them down on paper.

Hopefully I will get the confidence and skill to draw my own creatures and post them here..

So, if anybody knows a website or anything to help me develop my skill in drawing monsters/fantasy creatures, I would appreciate the help.

Thank You!!

PS..

Sorry if i posted this in the wrong thread, I couldn't find a thread more approriate for this :)

To be able to create realistic monsters from memory, you must know anatomy. There's no quick way to learn it, look at anatomical plates, study drawings books, sketch daily.. That's how you're going to get to that level where you can make up your own stuff, and make it work on its own.
Study human anatomy, study animal anatomy.. I know what I'm saying probably is a lot of things to absorb ( and to do!) but that's about the only way you'll get a solid grounding and be good at it.

Good Luck.

"create monters from memory..." Yikes! It's time to move! ;)

But seriously, read some good horror stories. It'll get your mind going.

Hello there,

I purchased a book from Chapters the other day called "Drawing & Painting Fantasy Beasts", by Kevin Walker. It talks alot about incorporating your creature into programs like photoshop or painter.

I found that it's pretty insirational too. It costs $31.99 Canadian.

Hope this helps :)
