i have an interveiw next week for a governors school and they said to bring a scetchbook or journal in. i have like 5 100 page scetch books filled. should i bring in a few, the best one, or make a binder of my favorite stuff.

I´d think a binder of your favorite stuff would be good.. Maybe 50 or so pages of choice sketches..

But I´m no authority on the subject.

a binder sounds good unless your favorite book is already fairly consistent. Just remember, you're as strong as your weakest piece

I agree with Talmir don't show anything that isn't your best.

do you guys think they are looking for ideas or tech skill when looking at the sketch books.

Probably they're looking at it more as a way to learn about you as a person. Do you draw alot, what sort of things do you doodle, etc. A big thing is probably just that you keep a sketchbook. I think ideas and technical skills may be a bonus, but they're probably looking more at your actual portfolio for that. Sketchbooks can be great personality indicators. Even still, you want to show them your best.
