My main question is about the medium/ technique. Can anyone give me any pointer, tips or tricks on how to get the best out of this way of working. Also any links to pics done this way would be nice, I cant seem to find many examples.

i'd reccomend waiting until the marker / pencil / ink rendering is entirely done, then apply the white sparingly and with great care.
nice work. lets see some mo.

Ok thanks, Ill try to use less white next time. I might try Gouache which i hear works well. As for seeing more of my work, i might start a sketchbook thread in the next couple of days. Until then i just want as much info on this technique as i can get.

drew struzan works on toned paper for his roughs for his movie posters, he uses just colored pencil on those, but still great to look at, and i love travis charest, he does alot of work on toned paper

Hey thanks for the artist suggestions, i checked them out and they seem cool. Especially some of the Indianna Jones stuff.
Anyways heres my second go, I checked out some really old feng zu stuff and lo'behold he used this technique. Do you think the black outlines help bring it off the page, Just i seen it done somewhere else and gave it a try?
