hi, i guess you can change that in the windows eplorer by right-klicking on the file, choosing the "properties" (i'm sorry, i use a german windows-version, so i just try to translate). then another window opens, giving you more informations about the file. and under "atrributes" there's a checkbox called "protected". you have to uncheck that one. i hope that solves your problem.... btw - you don't have to do this procedure on every single file but you can right-klick a bunch of them and unchecking the protection...

you know the weird thing is that under attributes it only says "read only. Archive. Hidden" and does not have protected or unprotected boxes at all.

Doesn't "read-only" refer to protection?

datameister - i would guess so... as i said, i only have the german version, so i don't now the exact english translation, sorry...
ladylioness - have you tried unchecking the read-only-box? well, i guess, you did...:)
if that didn't work: have you tried saving another file / a file from another program in that same folder? because maybe a folder higher in hierarchy is locked and you can't save anything because of that in your special folder... or you could save the file with another name... dunno, kind of suggesting here, because i don't know for sure what's happening on your computer... sorry!
