imo, too many soft edges and not enough crisp/hard ones. also, your value scale is very very shallow. finding some midtones and highlights (not necessarily specular, but as a value) would go far to increase the readability of this image.

you could also do a little work to seperate the chin more from the chest. pull that form out some more its looking a little flat.
at first glance I thought it was king kong.

I agree with it having too many soft edges - the title thinking ogre made me laugh before I saw the picture I imagined an ugly ogre version of that statue, um... the thinker or ponderer - or something...

haha this dude's pretty intimidating... onyl thing i really have to say is that his coloring is too much like the background and he sorta just blends in.

Great expression in the face... you can tell he's not used to assigning tasks to his meager intellect. He must feel somewhat worried that the decision to "think" about his problem was poor one, and that he should have stuck with what he knows best--bashing things.
Aside from following the other crits people had, I feel like his muscles should be given a more natural appearance...you can keep the bulk, but don't take all your cues from pro body-builder refs...remember an ogre doesn't take a scientific approach to fitness. Not all his muscle groups will be evenly developed and filled out, and there should be a few areas where the skin is droopy or stretched. Imagine his lifestyle... there's usually less food available than he can eat, but on occasion he'll have a surplus of meat and overfill. That to say it makes sense that his metabolism is uneven-- in times of abundance he'll be putting on extra weight and growing, in dear times his body will waste away muscle by converting it back to protein... To hint at this, you should draw from refs of giganticism sp? (andre the giant being the most famous example) and examples of bodies that metabolize too fast for their fat store keep up (pro-runners, swimmers, nomadic tribesmen).

He looks transparent. You need to build the figure up with color, rather then painting in shadows on top of a solid color. You need to build up the hair with color. Pop him off that wall with some values. And that green tatoo looks like you spilled some green tea on your piece. Paint it on there in stead of using different layer effects. Nice muscles and form. One mean looking SOB.
