Agree with pixeldragon, Conte and ink stuff's damn nice. Images might be too big . Can't get the whole picture....I guess smaller size (below 800x600), would do the trick :) (Or is it just me.....?......

great work. hmm, small legs and feet seem like a common trend in your more defined figures.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I really appreciate it. :P

Blkn: I agree about the small feet but at the same time...I think my proportions are generally out of whack on the lower half of the body. I'll take more care in the future to change this.

Pixeldragoon: My stuff has never been called fabulous. You made my night! :D

hahaha so that's what those PMs were for! Thanks alot Patdzon. I will definitely keep the tips in mind tomorrow when I do some studies. I was confused and thought you were just forwarding those PMS to the entire community one at a time or something.

I'm @ www.MaxtheMutt.com now.

I wasn't in the student frame of mind when I was going to Algonquin college. Now I'm living in Toronto with no friends so I'm putting much more energy into this school program and getting more out of it. The first year is fine arts style drawing so it's been a fantastic learning experience.

I won't have many pictures for awhile...I'm on break until Jan.9th and the only life drawing is from my head into my sketchbook.

uh oh......if you are at max the mutt that means we are enemies !!! :P just kidding. yeah i never ended up going to algonquin, i chose sheridan instead. i too have been enjoying the school phenomenon and have been going thru the struggles with life drawing that all of us go through.

anyway, im looking forward to seeing more stuff! i should start a sketch book here too.....then you can laugh at my stuff!

I had the *worst* teacher last semester! She was right in that we are supposed to feel the form but for the entire semester all she would say is "Feel it! Feeeel it!" and make a useless gesture with her hands.

Do you know of any sketchgroup meetings in TO? Sheridan is in Oakville right? I'm right downtown. :)

um sketch groups in toronto....hmmm, i think i know of one or two but i have never attended school is just way way way to busy for me to do anything else.

ill check and let you know and then if you want you can attend.

as for sheridan yep, it is in oakville, its nice a quiet here....just the way i like it.

you know.....somehow i ended up with a similar teacher one of there "feel it" teachers i hate that crap......give me solid advice or just shut up and give me handouts. :P sorry that was my embittered rant for the day.

More Gestures! Different style now. I begin my gestures on the inside and once I'm happy with the action and the direction of the forms, I'll try to add emphasis on the surface. If any of these really stand out as "working", let me know!

Couple more Modelled drawings. I'm still not making sure my proportions are set at the beginning. Leaving me with these wonky figures.

These are right angle studies. You pretend you are looking @ the model from a right angle and draw the figure as best you using the information from your POV.

This is for my Colour Theory Class. It's done in Guache. We had to take a triatic from the colour wheel and paint a reference picture within those 3 colours. Sry about the flash in the ref pic.

good call! Do you think I can do master studies in Guache? Or rather, do you know of any fantastic guache painters I can study from. :)

Year one finals! It's hard to believe the changes from the beginning of the year.

hmm i think is better if you do..their compostions are super..dont go for details..just abstract patterns of color..(you can go to my site to see the way i approach comp studies)hmm i dont know any gouche painters..but there are a lot of tempera painters from the reinassance..pietro anigonni (sp) was the lattest that used tempera..although is hard to find images on the net.. www.artrenewal.org ..i love your hand has a lot of mass feeling to it..hmm look for master drawings at the louvre sute ..you have a lot of drawings you can learn from..
