I'm drawing this for the demon thread in the sketch section,

step one.
I have no scanner, but i work better with anatomy when doing pencil to paper, so i did a series of thumbnails and came out with the pose for this piece.

step two.

started digital painting, laying out the body, adding line art to show "details" easier.

step three

worked on background, some. Prometheus doesn't want me using "pinks" in my flame but i'm going to disobey him for now, background made with custom brush. tried to make it look "windy".

step four will be on it's way soon i'm sure.

Great to see you experimenting with this stuff. Also, it's nice to see you customizing brushes more and more. It's great how you get into something. I think it's much better to come up with a personalized brush, than to leech from the painter standard. Looks like you have a fun brush, that's doing some powerful stuff.

Look forward to the next installment of your WIP. Good luck with this. BTW: never disobey prom... NEVER. That muskrat knows what he's talking about.

starting to put in skin tones, lighting the figure more dramaticly, picked blue to balance the tempature of the painting, so because it looked dandy as an oriental styled demon.

Lookin good d! I agree with beef, its great to see you experimenting with things, and constantly jumping in and learning new techniques and stuff. keep it up, cant wait to see the finished piece. roar

made it brighter. changed legs some. made him alittle less chunky, which makes him look taller.

I honestly don't know where to go now, so i guess it's finished until someone can give me some direction or a paint over.

heh nice ankh, i think i'm going to stay away from wings right now with my demons, i think they look scarier without them.

step six/final:

added rune stone, glowing eye, fixed leg due to help from brasshorse killer, added stairs and another demon. I'm pretty happy with it.

Ahah, the final product is grand indeed. I was sort of worried about the legs, but i couldn't put my finger on it. Looks like you and brasshorse did! gj!
