Hey Guys,
Sorry if this has been posted before, just wanted to ask a quck question. I have recently changed my mind about majors. I want to switch from Illustration to Product design, thus I lack portfolio pieces. I was wondering if ANY of you guys know any answers regarding to this question: How many pieces of development and how many projects should be contained inside the portfolio itself? I heard from a friend that there should be around 3 project, each consisting of around 60 pages. I think that's way too much, and I'm pretty sure that is. So could you guys give me some tips? I know there is an art center thread and i should be browsing through there. But please be kind and leave me a quick answer! I need to really hurry and make my portfolio before march 1st. Thanks guys!

Hey Mario,
Thanks for the thread. I already read the thread and I did not find a convincing answer. Thanks though.

If anyone is out there, please give some tips regarding the portfolio.
Thank you!

The idea was to post your question there again because the art center gang is "meeting" in that thread for some time now. You would probably get a faster answer.

Making a portfolio before March is gonna be tight. Are you enrolled right now? I switched to Product after one term of illustration, what I did was sit in some product classes and sketched a ton, with one final piece nicely rendered after a bunch of development sketches. However I was already enrolled and had already taken Viscomm 1 with Neville who also was a lot of help preparing my portfolio. Coming in from scratch I know they want to see a LOT of work.
