a little background info.
My dad is a professional illustrator who has been doing work in Texas most of his life and over time he has become good friends with most of the old texas artists.. some of these guys were very influential in the progression of modern illustration in general. anyway,, they all still get together time to time for lectures or whatnot. anyway..
i was out at lunch with my dad the other day and he tells me that he got an email from Don Punchats, "a very well known texas illustrator", and he said that Don had just discovered some new digital artist that was so good it would make you want to give up painting. he sent this email and a link to the artists webpage to all of the local illustrators who were on his email list. my dad said that all these guys were freaking out and just totally blown away. they had never seen anything like it. these are a bunch of old yet very reputable artists were talking about here..
my dad went on to describe this mystery artists style.. he said this dude could render the most picture perfect and moody environments and matte paintings that he obviously pulled right out of his ass,, and when you zoom in real close on the stuff its just a bunch of crazy lines..
i asked him what this guys name was and he said he couldnt remember..
i said,, is his name Craig Mullins?
and he said YAH thats it! youve heard of him?
:D
