It always seems to amaze me how many much artistic talent exist. Theres just so many kick ass artist. I visit Viag's site and did my usual routine of checking out an artist links section... To my unsuprised self I was able to put about 12 new artists in my favorites folder. Its rather intimidating at times because I start to think of "why would someone hire me over all these people"? the answer of course is always Marketing, Style and Work Ethic. Anyways.. I was wondering if there a easy way of copying and pasting a website without actually visiting the site and without having totype it in manually... I tried the copy and paste and it deosnt work... I was thinking that maybe we can do an artist link exchange.

I try not to think of myself as competing with them, but rather traveling along side them down the same path. :)
And yea, a link exchange would be a great idea. :)

Try: http://www.conceptart.org/wiki/doku.php?id=links
I added links to about 100 concept artist there. You should be able to find some more in their links section and add them there (in alphabetical order please).
I just use their real names and not their online nick names. You should be able to find a lot of your favourites there (if nobody removed them). You should be able to find "viag" there under "Nicolas Ferrand". I have already thought about creating a table with "real name" as link, online name, and a little decription of "famous work". But in the original wiki thread nobody really said that much.
And the "copy/paste" stuff: if you use firefox then just right click on the link and use "Copy Link Location" from the menu. That will copy the target of the link like normal text. If you just "copy/paste" (Control + C/Control + V) then you will just get the text of the link that you can read.

hmmm... Why does is not work? What exactly have you done?
An example:
I visit this site: http://www.conceptart.org/wiki/doku.php?id=links
What artist's URL do I want... ok, I decide that I want the link to "Craig Mullins". I scroll down a bit, right click on the name "Craig Mullins" and then scroll down to "Copy Link Location" in the "Right Click Menu" and then left click when that option is selected. Then I go back to this "Reply to Thread" window (in another Firefox tab) and when I press "Control + v" this appears: http://www.goodbrush.com/.
Or were you trying to achieve something different?

It's not that surprising that there are so many quality artists out there. we (in the US and europe) live in a world where almost everybody is exposed to all kinds of "art" everyday. art schools, libraries, the internet, all can provide inspiration and art education by the bucketload. being an artist of some kind is now a viable occupation. how many people live in the US now? 300 million?
everbody wants to be an artist, especially a concept artist, it's every schoolboy's dream. are artists really artists now, or just the product of our culture?
x standard art education + y infleunces = this artist?
multiply by n amount of years for skill?
but concept artists are by nature tasked with the invention of entire universes, so shouldn't they at least create SOMETHING new?
does the art(images) of videogames and movies now substitute for real life?
I think concept art is so appealing because it's the ultimate escape for someone living in suburbia

I agree, what i love about art, is that the community shares secrets and tips. And does everything in thier power to help others out, unlike many other industries.
