I posted this in fine arts, but I know many of you don't visit that forum, so here it is again...

I'm looking for a primer that exhibits the characteristic of oil based lead white primer specifically with regards to its ability to be wiped completely clean if you decide to restart something. Only think is it takes forever for it to be completely dry if I use something like W&N's Foundation White.

I'm thinking about getting W&N's modified alkyd based Oil Primer, since it will be dry enough to paint on within a couple of days. Anyone know this product's "cleanability" to return it to a near clean state?

If not, or if you have any experience using a subsitute please let me know.

Thanks in advance for any info.

hey magic man,
use the foundation white...
just add dryer.

cobalt (NOT copal) dryer is the best.
literally two drops of the stuff in a half-dollar sized dollup of paint will make it dry in just a few hours.
use more, and it can dry in minutes.
the drier is purple, and if you use too much it will discolor the paint.
when it dries however, the discoloration will go away.

careful though,
you can feel the cobalt drier suck the moisture from your lungs!
seriously!
so open it, add two drops, and CLOSE it immeadiately.
