Thought I'd share something that was in the local paper awhile ago. It may be useful...at least it's noteworthy.

The San Francisco Bay Area game companies (sf chronicle may 19,2002)

Redwood City's Electronic Arts
Foster City's Sony Computer Entertainment America
San Francisco's Sega of America
San Rafael's LucasArts
U.S. divisions of Japanese gamemakers Konami, Namco and Capcom
Konami, whose U.S. headquarters are in Redwood City, south of San Francisco
and Capcom, based in Sunnyvale, near San Jose

Besides the big boys, the region has hundreds of small development studios whose titles are published by larger companies.
Visual Concepts, a Sega-owned sports game studio for example.
