For my last painting I chose to use the following:
.one Buddist Monk
.A pair of old school guns
.Chtululike Octopus
How can it go wrong?

I took my time on this one, and am not sure it is over yet,
but I am gonna take a brake from painting for some time.
School is taking over, and I really can't afford to get excited
about anything else, not even a thunderdome comp! there will be only
sketches for the next 2 months...
What do you think? I am very happy with this one, but I am
sure it can be improved!

this is kick ass RM!!! great job man. everything looks good--the only thing off the top of my head is the BG-i think if itwas darker it would put more emphasis on foreground
becaus eof the shape and the high contrast between octopus anf BG thats where my eye goes --if the BG was dark -maybe it could feel like it waas emerging from the darkness--which would push the narrative more too---just a thought
as it is it looks really good---ty
the RM signature detracts from the piece--mainly color
i would make it smaller and dark brown so its less noticeable
show us som edetail of his face

My comments echo tyboogie's. I think cthuloid creatures should emerge out of darkness as opposed to light.
I think you have enough brightness in the foreground figure and floor to accommodate this.
You're right, there's not a way this concept can go wrong.

343guiltyspark/really happy you got the feeling I wanted to punch trough! hope that there is no doubt bout who is going to win this mach...
tyboogie/ howdy ty! the bg was my boldest choice on this one, and maybe it was wrong, but I have several dark ones and they don't work quite right..
now that I am posting the details I get the feeling there is so much left to do in this one, both on the Bg and the tiny parts...oh well just have to let go now!
Blackhand/ it can't go wrong! but I really wouldn't want to have to sell the idea to an art director without the image for him to see!
scout v/ we are all one of a kind, but I am very happy you like.
Foster/ :fruit: thanks! wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you

all these great compliments, i hate to be the odd man out, when i look at the piece, i dont get the feel of a gunslinger, he seems as if he is trying to sell the guns? but geez, beautiful peace especially the octopus, reminds me of Mignolas work on "conqueror worm". my fave part is the suction cups
