Topic: Single person escape pod(aka noahs)
Description: Fema and the United states began working on the prevention for the greatest diaster ever, the end of earth by the wrath of god.
The united states being majority christian have dubbed the endevoir the "ARK Project". Thousands of escape pods known as Noahs are built and launch-bays are built in all many cities. The demand for these pods is enormous is and is only granted to those who have been choosen as "sinless" by the christian church; Politians, criminials and the law are rarely choosen to be humanities last hope.
Notes: Design the pods with some relationship to christianity, some symbolism should be coalesced into the design of the pod.
Deadline: "Nov 26th" near midnight OR the first weekend with at least 10 entries.

The ARK pods use a 21st century rocket propulsion system, that, along with the initial high pressure release from the docking bay, result in a bearable exit from the Earth's atmosphere. The docking bays usually hold space for three pods, although many cities have built them with bays for more than twenty. The pods are set on a conveyor system underneath the launch area and are systematically raised by the ramp, that is then used to alter the release trajectory in order to break free from the atmosphere safely.

Oof, I'm sick of working on this; been awhile since I've done a whole project start to finish. Good fun!

Anyone else notice it says "procresses" in the image header?
I think this is kind of a hard topic, I can't say I'm a very good designer but I couldn't come up with that much other than using a cross. Wouldn't it have been better to include all religions? Give us some wiggle room.
Yadam, I can't see yours!

Well I would like to do more on this, but know I wont get to it. But its not quite just a sketch either. I twisted the description just a tad.

The orbiting station wasn't even complete, let alone ready to launch pioneers of the Last Christians. A sect that was tired of the warring planet, and were preparing to launch themselves into a new future. Due to an unforseen circumstance, the trajectory of the planet began to change, and the orbit of station was decaying. The arks were launched at such a rate, some of them barely made it out of the shoot, others, simply did not.

People have been frozen and placed into escape pods, that are leaving the Earth to the orbit. Cockpit computer checks every 1000 years conditions on the Earth if there is a possibility to return back.

I really like your second one JakkaS!! It's very celestial. But there are some perspective problems. The left white side needs to be a bit more to the back and the right. The left small engine should be a little higher.

There are only 8 entries so far, and instead of letting all the good topics go to just a few people i have added the rule that new topics wont be added until 10 entries are hit on a sunday.
so 7 more days are being added to the list of this topic, i suggest going back to your entries if you were waitting for a new topic and uberizing them.

Sorry its late. I decided to render it in pencil since I generally suck at such things and need the practice!
Couples are sent in pairs in each 'noah', held in stasis for the duration of the journey. Upon entry to the planets atmosphere the wings swing open: the 'noah' then uses the velocity from re-entry to glide to a 'safe' landing area (determined by climatic conditions, water sources, and places not full of big sharp rocks which would smash the craft). The couple will then be revived from stasis, awkening to a new world...Living happily ever after or some such.
